(2001) Mostly Martha.
(In German with English subtitles).
DRAMA.
Basically the story is on a self-centered, ego-centric top female chief speaking to a shrink and then the film dwells on the reavaluation and the purpose to see him in the first place! As the film progresses, she ends up looking after her sister's only child who was accidently killed is when her life beomes complicated!
The film starts on a very tiresome conventional introduction for the first 40 minutes by showcasing Martha act like a touchy bitch, and the situations don't become interesting until she coincides or collided with another new chief who is Italian and perhaps the opposite of her! The problem with this film is that although she's an awesome cook and a top chief, the film doesn't dwell too much on why she doesn't eat so much on her own cooking, even though everything looks very appetizing since it's amore of a psychological thing! The audience has to figure it out for themselves and the reason is somewhat unmemorable to say the least, but what is fascinating about this film is that the film involves food and cooking in another type of expression I've never experienced before but the effect dosen't appear to be any big deal even as you start watching it! If you like films of this multitude such as "Babette's Feast" and "Eat Drink Man Woman", you might be able to like this film as well except this film doesn't dwell enough on cooking as much as one would like to see- at least not as much as the two aformentioned I just mentioned!
3 out of 4.
