It's not great, but not as bad as it is being painted. The accent is a caricature , people. Think of Maxwell Smart, think Pink Panther, think Terry Thomas -- it's fun and has some quite funny parts.
It shouldn't have to be Pirates for it to get a decent review... I'll admit, the mustache got a bit old, or rather, Joanna's reaction. Paul Bettany did an outstanding job in this fun film.
