Review of Mortdecai (2015) by Richard Y — 06 Feb 2015
I thought it's actually not as bad as the critics panned it or its pathetic U.S. box office takes. It's merely reminiscent of 60's English caper comedies, a la The Pink Panther and the follow ups with Peter Sellers' bumbling Inspector Clousseau but this time the eccentric one is the thief Johnny Depp as Mortdecai and other quirky animated characters such as his man servant Paul Bettany.
Pity Jeff Goldblum has such a small part, he could make a great comedic villain. Worth a watch when it comes on TV.
