Review of Mortdecai (2015) by Colleen M — 23 May 2015
Because I don't listen to critics, and because I like movies like Hudson Hawk... I decided I wanted to see this despite the massive critical backlash - and I'm glad I did.
It's like the bastard love child of something like 'Lock, Stock and two Smoking Barrels' and 'Austin Powers'. (The first Austin powers - the mostly funny one.).
It's purposely silly and stupid, with over-the-top gags and juvenile humor (from potty humor to endless sexual innuendo)... but I knew exactly what to expect from it, and it certainly made me laugh a few times.
Not sure I'd say it has high rewatch value - but I'm far from disappointed that I watched it.
Also - Paul Bettany is awesome.
