Review of Mortdecai (2015) by Austin G — 28 Jul 2015
It seems fashionable to dislike this film, though God knows why. Depp is fun and highly entertaining as the bumbling, Nigel Thornberry-esque toff Mortdecai, Paltrow is charming, and it was actually hugely refreshing to see Bethany outside of his comfort zone.
It's fair to say it's not going to change your life or even cause you to lose control of your bladder as a result of irrepressible laughter but, overall, I'd say it was 1hr and 46 minutes well spent.
I'm not sure when or why some people decided that lame sexual innuendo, bad jokes and silly accents wasn't funny any more... it will always be funny. If your a fan of Austin Powers, Wayne's World, Bill & Ted etc, I'd say there's a decent chance you'll get a least a few good laughs out of this film.
