Review of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997) by Anthony K — 07 Feb 2008
OK...so we took Paul Anderson out of the Director's chair, and gave it to John Leonetti...AND THEY STILL COULDN'T GET IT RIGHT!!! Cheesy costumes, lots of digital and not-so-good special effects, bad acting, bad script, and he even managed to completely pull a FATALITY on the storyline!!! SHAO KAHN IS NOT RAIDEN'S BROTHER!!! SHINNOK IS NOT NOT THEIR FATHER!!!! WHAT-IN-THE-HELL???!!!.
..SHAO KAHN and SHINNOK AREN'T EVEN HUMAN LOOKING IN THE GAMES!!! (see the instruction manual for Mortal kombat II for details...lol) But, that's what we get for leaving the script to someone who hasn't played the game OR read the character backgrounds, which is clearly presented throughout the video games, books, magazines, and even in the instruction manuals!!! How I pray that someone's going to come along and re-do these flicks, and actually get it right!!!!.
..shit, give me the rights, and I'll pump out a killer script for yuh!!!...how hard is it to take these kick-ass characters and storylines, who have already been established in the video games, and put it on the screen!?!?.
..It shouldn't be that difficult!!! Just make a bloody kung-fu flick, and apply the right costumes!!! Other people have done this already, why are they having trouble with these movies!!! What a dissapointment!!!
