Review of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997) by Michael H — 09 Feb 2009
This film could have been so much better. If you're not an MK game fan you will be in the shadow with the poor introduction of all of the MK characters. It held some 'ok fight scenes but looked more like the computer game than actually feel like a film which made it very uneasy to watch.
Almost everybody got recasted (except for Liu Kang and Kitana). The costumes looked really cheap and the animations were terrible even for it's time. As for positives, well I didn't turn it off, there was a good plot and you couldn't help laugh at how bad it was.
With a lot more time and money it could have been a flawless victory. Lets hope that MK devastation 2010 isn't so cheap.
