In the past we have seen some terrible movie adaptations of Mortal Kombat and I had no intention of watching this movie when it came out. When my friends invited me to watch a movie with them I did not expect it to be the New MK movie and was less than thrilled.

After seeing the movie for the first time I can honestly say that it passed my expectations by an exponential amount. The choreographed fight scenes were exhilarating to watch, the character cameos were on point, and the cheesy one liners were not overused.

I enjoyed watching a diverse cast of actors that fit well into their roles with the exception of Cole Young played by Lewis Tan. I didn’t particularly think his acting was on par with his cast members and kept wondering why he was picked for the main role of this movie.

He did exceptionally well in the fight scenes but his delivery in the more conversational parts of the movie were lacking. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed watching this movie.
