Review of Mortal Kombat (2021) by Diamande — 23 Apr 2021

Having played many of the Mortal Kombat video games over the years, seen the cheesy and visually painful older versions of Mortal Kombat movies,I couldn't been happier seeing this adaptation here come to life (Too bad I could not watch it on cinema due to COVID tho).

Even tho I don't know the whole Mortal Kombat lore, I believe it was obvious that the director and the cast respected the source material and wanted to make a good film, which they did in my opinion. Great cinematography overall with beautiful landscapes, a very nice music score including the iconic soundtrack, the casting was spot on and the fighting was non stop from start to finish, exactly what you would expect to see in a Mortal Kombat movie.

I will not spoil anything here because I believe, every Mortal Kombat fan or anyone who just likes fighting movies should watch it and make up their own mind. My score for the movie is easily 9/10 with only "complaint" really being that, I enjoyed it so much I could see myself watching an extra hour more, didn't want it to end.

I would love to see more Mortal Kombat ovies in the future following this direction and approach.
