In short - It’s fun, but really dumb.

I can’t help but remember that awesome viral trailer a few years back that reimagined Mortal Kombat in a dark, grounded, realistic way. That would of been 100x better than this.

It’s not terrible, it’s fun. But the editing and pacing is awful (like seemingly all tentpole WB movies), the story is really dumb, and the fight scenes are so heavily edited I can’t even tell what’s going on half the time. It just looks super fake, like all American fighting movies where the actors can’t actually fight. It is a shame, because some of the actors look like they could actually fight and some of the choreography and special effects are cool.

Overall, its was disappointing, but it’s worth the watch if you already have HBO max. Just don’t waste your money to see it in the theater.
