Review of Mortal Kombat (1995) by Max D — 23 Sep 2010

I love the Mortal Kombat series and I loved this movie as a kid. Now that I'm older I see alot of things wrong with it, but it's way better than how bad its sequel is. While it doesn't follow the original first game perfectly due to a few characters who don't appear til the sequel, Shang Tsung's age and Raiden's role reduced to him not even fighting; it still did a decent job of making a video game movie (which makes it better than majority of other video game movies like Street Fighter, and the sequel to this movie).

This movie is no masterpiece obviously and they could have done far better and could have made a GREAT movie, instead of a more rushed movie just trying to cash in on the success of the series. If a remake or the rumored next movie is made, I hope it surpasses this movie, but only time can tell honestly.
