Review of Mortal Kombat (1995) by Kevin R — 08 Mar 2015
Flawless victory.
A group of the Earth's greatest warriors have been selected to fight in an infamous fight tournament known as Mortal Kombat that contains fighters from all over the galaxy. Most fighters have their own unique fighting styles; and this year, the humans need to do well to ensure the Earth's safety from the tournament's organizer. Can the humans win a tournament they know nothing about?
"Get over here!".
Paul WS Anderson, director of Death Race, Resident Evil, AVP: Alien vs. Predator, Pompeii, Resident Evil: Afterlife, Event Horizon, Resident Evil: Retribution, Soldier, and The Three Musketeers, delivers Mortal Kombat. The storyline for this picture is as you'd expect from a movie based on a video game. The action and special effects were entertaining but a bit ridiculous at times. The acting was below average and the cast includes Christopher Lambert, Linden Ashby, Robin Shou, Talisa Soto, and Trevor Goddard.
"Every man is responsible for his own destiny.".
Mortal Kombat is a fun movie I enjoyed as a kid because I adored the video games. When I saw this on HBOGO, I had to watch it again for the first time in a long time. This is one of those guilty pleasure movies where you just love seeing your favorite characters in live action. Is this good? No. Is it worth a viewing; debatable, but I enjoyed it.
"Fatality.".
