Review of Mortal Engines (2018) by Jamesirish68 — 15 Dec 2018
Best Steampunk I've seen in ages . A cross between Time Bandits and Mad Max:Beyond the Thunder Doom with a Lord of the Rings in the distant future vibe. I especially liked the baddie Hugo Weaving. He has been hitting the gym .He looks really well.
The CGI is very good, especially the traction cities. It more than compensates for the weaknesses in the story. It's adapted from a Young Adult sci-fi novel so it's aimed at them naturally. Critics and old farts didn't enjoy it. We did.
