Review of Morning Glory (2010) by Tracey M — 20 May 2011
This film is a watchable and as advertised, but is low on identity, personality and depth. After watching, I'm not even sure whether to characterize this film as a comedy, drama, dramedy, rom-com or what? In fact, I wonder how I would have felt if this story was captured as an avant-garde drama with some unexpected subplots and a nerve-racking climax.
Ford unexpectedly delivered a strong performance compared to McAdams, Keaton and Wilson. Most of the characters had single dimension personalities and dulled a film trying to be funny and inspirational.
