Review of Morning Glory (2010) by Joseph O — 11 Aug 2011
"Morning Glory" fails as a movie in spite of a very promising cast. The film is too cutesy for its own good and is filled with those annoying pop song interludes between scenes that are supposed to describe the mood of the characters.
There are some funny moments (what they get Matt Malloy to do on TV) and I thought Harrison Ford was great as an egocentric, washed up news anchor. Too bad the entire story is generic and the romance between Rachel McAdams and Patrick Wilson is obligatory, underwritten and stupid.
