"Morgan" is a science fiction/suspense thriller about a genetically engineered girl who is superior in intellect and emotional development to the average person. An investigator from corporate (Kate Mara) is sent to the backwoods laboratory to investigate Morgan and file a report about the projects feasibility.
Though the film has moments of suspense, it suffers from an underdeveloped plot and confusing premise. The characters lack depth and are hollow caricatures there to suffer whatever Morgan inflicts upon them.
The narrative is overall hokey and the plot twist is extremely confusing. Morgan is an extremely unsympathetic villain who is akin to a Jason Voorhees type villain who kills without cause. Not the best science fiction trope ----------------------------------------------------- C.
