Review of Moonwalker (1988) by Daniel M — 27 Aug 2008
I think a friend of mine said it best, when he called this movie an "Acid Trip." Nothing ever makes much sense, it has very little plot, and that, doesn't really have a point. You get a mixture of documentary, stage performances, music videos, and out of nowhere, a small story to lighten things up.
You get Jackson as the good guy, who hangs with street kids, and when in need, he wishes upon a star, to transform into cars, air crafts, and a super hero strapped to the max with large guns, used to fight off thugs, who work for drug lord Joe Peschi, sporting a strange hairdo, and mostly saying the word's "He's getting away," and "Go Get Him.
" Not quite sure what he was doing here, maybe he owed Jackson a favor, or something, I don't know. I didn't totally hate it however. I never laughed so hard at a bad film before as much as this one.
Some scenes were amusing, and the claymation scene was especially laughable. It's no doubt a bad film, or whatever it is, but if you want to have a good laugh, this one would be worth sticking in I guess.
