Review of Moonstruck (1987) by Candice T — 10 Jul 2008
Moonstruck is one of my top-ten most favorite movies of all time. It's really too bad that Cher comes along with so much baggage, so many people feel like it's beneath them to see this movie. She truly shone as a character actor here, as did Nicholas Cage and Olympia Dukaki.
When the script, acting, directing and soundtrack all contribute in equal parts to the telling of a story, that's when you know it's brilliant. And even though it's a whimsical story, by the end I still always end up really believing in love at first sight.
