Review of Moonstruck (1987) by Prithviraj P — 15 Jan 2009
I might have a thing for Italian American movies. I love the accents, adore the food, and want live in these people's neighborhoods. Lines, casting, and performances are what make the film such a classic romantic comedy. The way that Shanley uses authentic Italian American phrases to bring the biggest laughs out of the film is brilliant. Who else says "Do ya love him Loretta?" "Ah, mom, I love him awful" "Ah, that's too bad". Fantastic.
I saw it twice, and my love for the film still hasn't reached its full potential.
