A beautiful, quirky, & raw story of young love with just the right undercurrent of melancholy bubbling beneath the surface. The young actors who play Sam & Suzy convey such emotion with mere looks and the excellent supporting cast of adults including Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Brace and Willis, & especially a very quiet sad performance by Bill Murray.
To say nothing of the wonderful look & sound of the film. The whole package is unmistakably Wes Anderson & as someone who considers Rushmore and The Royal Tennenbaums 2 of their favorite movies ever that's an excellent thing.
