Review of Moonrise Kingdom (2012) by Alexander N — 10 Aug 2013

Anderson is really just going through the motions here. It's a paint-by-numbers rehash of everything you've already seen him do visually and thematically. Although the interplay between the two kids who are the main characters is winning, Anderson's act is stale and really left me cold in this one.

It really lost its way in the third act too, with a couple of pretty laughable (not in a good way) "shark jumping" moments.
