Review of Moonrise Kingdom (2012) by Phillip D — 04 Jun 2014
Undoubtedly the current pinnacle of Anderson's career, Moonrise Kingdom disguises an extremely honest and serious take on modern romance within a comedic and bright world that is both isolated from cliches but endless in adventure at the same time.
The child actors are surprisingly brilliant and they are bolstered by strong performances by Norton and Willis, the latter of whom displays a surprising amount of actual acting ability. Ultimately Anderson finds the perfect spots for his hodgepodge of Hollywood stars and the story flows beautifully.
A must see for the whole family.
