Review of Moonraker (1979) by Paul K — 17 Jan 2010
Connery has been the only Bond to follow up a great movie with another, 4 in a row to be precise. Moore's previous outing was great but like all the following Bonds, trying to equal/surpass a predecessor film is not easy.
Although Jaws is back and has a decent plot, the epic finale was hard to believe and the good story leads to a poor finish ultimately ruins the film as a whole. This was not directed by Ridley Scott but seems to try to put Bond in every cheesy sci-fi thing possible.
The only thing keeping this fresh is the 70% of the movie that was fun to watch. MISSION FAILED (for bad ending).
