Review of Moonraker (1979) by James W — 29 Jun 2013
Taking Bond into space is a bit of a risk, or any film into space is a risk as it may get cheesy and look unrealistic. But Moonraker succeeds, the space visuals look magnificent, especially for the late 70's where visuals like today weren't available back then.
The final stand at the space station is fantastic, the laser guns are so cool. This Bond film has the best gadgets especially the modified boat which in featured in a spectacular chase. Despite the over the top nature, you've just gotta love this film as it doesn't take itself too seriously and defies what's possible.
