Review of Moonraker (1979) by Jordan F — 24 Nov 2014
Moonraker is most of a good spy flick, right up until the end with the overblown space parts that is lampooned in everything from Austin Powers 2 to the trailer for Machete 3. The camp is back for this installment, with 5-6 gags as James Bond loses some pursuers with a hovercraft gondola.
Also turning one of Bond's most memorable adversaries into an ally was a bad move, taking away a lot of the suspense. The movie has great visual effects and some good moments, for a entertaining Bond if not serious enough.
