Review of Moonraker (1979) by Petros T — 11 Aug 2015
This is one of the the ones that stuck in my head when I was younger, mainly because of the whole space thing. Indeed, apparently they only made this as a result of the success of Star Wars. What results is utterly preposterous.
Really. Some of the scenes near the end are beyond silly. It's almost like a pastiche of Bond. Having said all that, it still doesn't stop me enjoying it. And I can't tell you why because the villain and the Bond girl aren't even that great either.
But it's just watchable. I also liked how Jaws became a goodie. Corny the way he falls in love but I like any story of redemption.
