There is nothing overtly wrong with this film. The direction is good, the acting is good, the music is good. But there's something missing. I never felt strongly enough about any of the characters, and ultimately that affected my enjoyment of the picture.
Having said that though, this is still a relatively successful film with strong performances from Jake Gyllenhaal and Susan Sarandon. I'm not sure how it could have been improved, but there is definately something missing.
Watchable but slightly unfulfilling.
