Review of Moonlight (2016) by Oliver N — 04 Mar 2017
Arguably one of the bravest films of the year, Moonlight utilises subdued performances from a stellar (yet not particularly well-known) cast about the three stages of growing up as a gay, black boy in a poor family on the outskirts of Miami, with a drug-addict mother. If that doesn't have Oscar written all over it, I don't know what does. The only major issue here being the pacing in some areas- but otherwise, a delight.
Verdict: A-.
