Review of Moonlight (2016) by Holly Y — 24 Feb 2017
A fascinating examination of masculinity. The three sections show one boy's journey to 'manhood' and the consequences of toxic masculinity. The film focuses on the good and chances to be better but are realistic about consequences.
Heartbreaking and compelling. Mahershala Ali deserves the oscar but I loved Trevante Rhodes as Black, he is one to watch.
