The talent of the cast and director is evident but, still, I couldn't help but feel I was bludgeoned over the head with pathos while Barry Jenkins repeatedly states to the audience "Feel sorry for Chiron! Feel sorry for Chiron!.
..Do you feel sorry for Chiron yet?".
