Based on the memories growing up in Miami's Liberty City, Barry Jenkins and Tarell Alvin McCraney tell a stunningly soulful and heartachingly intimate coming-of-age narrative about an African-American young man's gruelling throes to keep up with the expectations of black masculinity and to stay true to his identity.
