Movie night with Iris.
This is groundbreaking, earnest filmmaking. It is beautifully shot, and I really wanted to love this. The first third is superb, every plaudit deserved. The sea baptism scene, and score are simply epic. However I just didn't resonate with parts two and three. I've seen better in The Wire, and felt it started to drag.
For me and Oscars '17 Lion is the better film. Although I do feel I will revisit this one, to see if I'm wrong.
