Review of Moonlight (2016) by Rsherman68 — 27 Feb 2017
Moonlight offers a unique perspective of isolation imposed on a homosexual african american male growing up in a violent, intolerant environment. While certainly enlightening and supported by strong acting and directing, I felt the storyline intentionally dragged with forced silence, perhaps to emphasize the hardships and loneliness of Chiron.
Although I am glad to have experienced the movie in NO WAY can I agree with the politically correct endorsements of the "critics" in rating it 99 nor can I accept the academy's decision to award it Best Movie over La La Land.
In fact, I felt Lion, Manchester, and Fences were all equal, if not better offerings.
