Great start but none of the three chapters were long enough to get any more than a feel for the main character. What you have is a highly impressionistic film that doesn't even attempt to get to the root causes of Chiron's problems, turning out pretty much as you expect.
Why all the 100s and 10s I have no idea, other than the theme beguiled reviewers who could pretty much insert whatever feelings they have on the subject into the movie.
