Review of Moonlight (2016) by Andremax — 21 Oct 2018
Moonlight is a Boyhood that works. Chiron's story for itself is already more interesting to make a forming novel. A black and homossexual kid/teen/man is a theme with too much to explore in. And film makes it masterfully.
There's moments that makes you cry, angry and thinkful. For a low budget movie, Moonlight is quite beautiful and competent. Tense scenes are really tenses and raw. Everything in a concise story that finises in less than 2 hours, opposite of Boyhood.
A beautiful picture that is a punch in the face at the same time. A enriching experience.
