Review of Moondance Alexander (2007) by Christy L — 07 Jun 2008
Excellent family movie about second chances. Don Johnson is a former trainer who, due to an accident with one of his riders, has punished himself and retreated from the world. One of his horses and a new friend teach him that life is all about second chances.
Kay Panabaker plays a girl that has no friends, deeply misses her deceased father, and is quite lost in the world. At her Father's gravesite, she asks him to send her something that will make her special. In walks Checkers the horse and Don Johnson, who teach her to dream big, take chances and believe in yourself.
Co-starring the always loveable James "Rosco P. Coltrane" Best, of Dukes of Hazzard Fame.
Produced, Directed and Written by Michael Damian, who many will remember as "Danny Romalotti" for 18 years on Young and The Restless.
American figure skater Sasha Cohen also makes her acting debut playing the cruel "Fiona" and is surprisingly good.
