"Moon" is a very well acted, incredibly smart science-fiction film that plays with your expectations and holds more than a few surprises. One of he best things about the film is the cast, which consists of mainly Sam Rockwell.

One of the major themes of the film is loneliness and it's more than appropriate that he is never on the screen with any other actors; after a while you start to realize what it would be like to be on a moon base for 3 years without ever seeing anyone else in the flesh.

Despite the low budget, the sets and special effects are great and it really shows that director Duncan Jones, on top of writing a story that is really touching (and at times very tense) knows what he is doing behind the scenes.

Little touches here and there make this a believable story and what's really interesting about the film is that the science fiction doesn't take over the film. There aren't any scenes where aliens come up or a time machine messes with the whole equation, it's first and foremost about the character we follow.

Even if you're not a fan of science-fiction, it's a solid film that will really get you thinking and if you are a fan of science-fiction, you'll be happy to see a film what really has some brains and some original ideas.
