Review of Moon (2009) by André D — 25 Aug 2012
The most interesting spin on the "OMG I'm a clone!" theme since mid-Century sci-fi author Philip K. Dick invented it in 1968 ... and "Blade Runner" filmed it in 1982.
A mining company on the Moon is being run by a single man, who figures out he's actually a clone that's going to the dumpster, not Earth, at the end of his tour of duty. Man, those big evil American corporations, they'll do anything to reduce costs. But this clone's got a plan.
The Moon-base has a HAL9000-styled omniscient computer, which the clone calls Gerty; Kevin Spacey does a nice job of delivering the voice.
RECOMMENDATION: If you like the sci-fi genre, it's a worthy 90 minutes.
