Review of Moon (2009) by Joe W — 01 Sep 2012
Absolutely brilliant. A very impressive debut from David Bowie's son. Sam Rockwell delivers an impressive and yet difficult performance. Much like Ryan Reynolds in "Buried" and James Franco in "127 Hours", it's really a one man show. To carry a movie on your own is difficult and he succeeds at it. Why wasn't he nominated for an oscar again?
The twist at the end is great and will break your heart. It's such a great story.
The special effects are great. They had a budget of only 5 million. It doesn't look like it.
The score is great. Clint Mansel's theme will forever play in my head on a loop.
Moon is just a wonderful, very well acted and very well written film. Truly one of the best Sci-fi films ever made.
