Review of Moon (2009) by Mike T — 26 Jul 2014
Kind of silly, hokey and forgettable but still decent sci-fi and a very solid movie to watch, if you are into serious somber science based films that the world seems to have turned it's back on. I mean if this is considered a masterpiece, then why do people also call the movies that are the complete opposite (piece of crap movies) masterpieces too? I just don't get it, and will have to give this one a little bit lower of a review but then again, I did actually like it a lot, so it's a lot better than some of the crap I have had to watch.
It's actually a very good movie, a little violent and I don't totally remember it. It was well done and was one of the better ones, even though it was instantly forgettable... Great, tense motion picture with some creepy sci-fi twists.
Considered a great movie by the rest of the world, so I will give it a solid 9 out of 10 because I enjoyed it too, even though I don't really remember it and maybe it went over my head with its goodness.
I do remember it being very thrilling in the old, epic kind of ways - when movies were mostly visceral and over-the-top (like Jurassic Park or Alien) and weren't totally mind-bending. This was quite a mind-trip though.
Very well done and I loved the ending. Plus it was kind of neat in that there was almost no music but it didn't resemble an indie film at all - it was just great storytelling, and lots and lots of fun to watch.
