Review of Moolaadé (2004) by Gayle M — 06 Jun 2007
Fantastic film. Honest and beautiful and a stark but human look at what it means to be a girl in the parts of Africa where the removal of the clit is considered a type of cultural ritual. The pace speeds up a bit too much at the end, but the message is brilliantly portrayed and incredibly important.
