Gondry is perhaps the only director alive who could capture so imaginatively an impossible aesthetic. Great performances, excellent art direction, and all around solid decisions concerning how to translate Boris Vian's work into a film make l'ecume des jours (mood indigo) a phenomenal adaptation.
