Review of Mood Indigo (2013) by David G — 09 Aug 2014
I was utterly charmed by the quirky inventiveness of the world Gondry was creating in MOOD INDIGO and completely given over to experiencing this world he was creating. Unfortunately, my expectations and level of trust, set by the films of Terry Gilliam and Spike Jonze, were unjustified when transferred to Gondry for this movie. Gondry's world simply doesn't have the groundedness or consistency of a Gilliam or Jonze world, and I slowly discovered that my trust had been misplaced as MOOD INDIGO unraveled.
Still a lot of creative visual stuff to enjoy, just don't expect it to mean anything.
