Review of Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) by Kevin P — 31 Dec 2014
A masterpiece in comedic writing, this epic British farce provides some of the best of what Monty Python has to offer; visual humor, surreal humor, 4th wall jokes, and an onslaught of quotable dialogue.
You don't always seem to know where the film's going, and the story ends so abruptly that you can't help but laugh at such an epic let down. As a comedy it ultimately succeeds since much of the humor actually makes the viewer THINK to get the jokes.
Without a doubt, this timeless classic is not only one of my favorite comedies, but as well as one of my favorite films in general; one that I can watch over and over again and yet never get tired of it.
If you're into comedies, then this is the film for you.
