Review of Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) by Kyle T — 12 Jun 2012
One of THE funniest films ever made. The writing is pure comedic gold, going from really every single type of joke imaginable: ranging from character based, to story driven, to fourth wall-breaking, to repetition, pure satire, it really is the holy matrimony of comedy, and is in my personal top ten favorite comedies of all time.
It really is that genuinely good. Seriously, if you havenâ(TM)t seen it, I have no idea what it is, but there is something wrong with you. Also, it goes by pretty amazingly timed for a film that lasts only an hour and a half.
The folks at Monty Python really KNOW what they are doing when they are writing, and this is one of the most perfect outlets for it. Every actor does wonders for the script. The delivery is excellent, the ending is something perfect of an anti-climax, and just⦠Oh my God, I just donâ(TM)t know what to say, seriously, itâ(TM)s just a perfect, brilliant movie.
I could sing praises about this movie all day long, and just about every scene is one of the most perfectly comedic scenes of all time, and thereâ(TM)s a reason why so many people have the movie memorized.
If you havenâ(TM)t seen it, Iâ(TM)m pretty sure you should be in jail.
