It was funny, a story told in 3 acts, good moments and is on-par with the original, the animation of the backgrounds look realistic. I know it's not surprising to compliment Pixar's animation but it looks like an improvement on the first film. But is the whole film better than the first film? NO. can't top it. it had it's college cliches until it's more engaging final third.
Overall: it may not be as good as Monsters inc. or Brave but I still find it enjoyable.
