Review of Monsters University (2013) by Bikerjames — 23 Jun 2013

Monsters University is certainly a step up from the last two disappointments (Cars 2 and Brave), but it isn't quite as good as the original. The original had Boo, who was the heart and soul of the film.

Without her, the film focuses solely on Mike and Sully and the plot is the basic sorority film you've seen many times. Most of it was predictable, but it was entertaining and had some good laughs. I saw it in a full theater with lots of kids and the film captured their attention.

As always, the animation itself is first rate and looks terrific. I did not see it in 3D so cannot comment on that.
