Review of Monsters University (2013) by Kacee V — 25 Apr 2014
Pixar movies can go either way nowadays. If they're too kid-friendly with cliche'd characters then they're harder to take in. Monsters University, a prequel to Monsters Inc., is a fine follow-up to the first film.
To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of the first film and I don't think it's anywhere near one of Pixar's best titles. It's a good movie that sets things up very well while at the same time being genuinely entertaining and engaging, but there are times when I felt a little bored and disinterested.
That's no fault to the filmmakers, mind you. I'm just not into this particular film series or these characters as much as other people are. It's much better than something like Cars or Planes, of course, but it's not one of the top tier titles for me.
