Review of Monster's Ball (2001) by Marcus Y — 27 Mar 2008
Don't believe the hype! This is one of the most overrated films I have seen. Halle Berry? Oscar? How? Granted she does have some chemistry with Billy Bob but much of her performance is over-acted, much like her oscar recievance speech come to think of it.
Heath Ledger's character had the good sense to take himself out of the equation early on... perhaps Berry should have taken a leaf out of his book. Poor.
