Review of Monster's Ball (2001) by Mark G — 24 Jul 2008
An intense roller coaster ride of varying stemotions make this film a modern classic that despite being an oscar winner is still underated in my opinion. Love, hate, racism and redemption of the human soul are all on display here as an incredible cast at the top of their game excel in every scene.
the unlikely love story between billy bob thornton and halle berry, the relationship between thornton and his racist father and heath ledgers fatal relationship with thornton are all explored beautifully.
The lead actors thornton and berry are supported in amazing fashion by rising star heath ledger and a never better peter boyle. A stunning movie that gets better with every viewing. Dont miss it.
